My monday eve dinner 8/21/06:

White Bean Salad:

Chicken Breast Sandwich with Spinach:

Overall both were pretty good. I didn't like the chicken as much because I forgot to buy lemon so I used lime, and the breasts I got were really thin, so they wern't as good for sandwiches. Pretty good though.
The bean salad was really amazing though. I don't really usually like mustard, and vinegar, and I thought it was such a good mix in this recipe. I also added some garlic for a little punch.

This is the first meal I made out of the cookbook [info]sarahtomic
gave me (How To Cook Everything: simple recipes for great food by Mark Bittman) yays! Thanks Sarah! *mew*

Lots of new (well, most are old) photos! I don't know where they all are, but yeah:

some are from Olbrich Gardens
theres also photos of the Arboretum

also other stuff. if you're bored, look around because it's all different. I don't know if I like the layout as much, but I can't seem to get it back the way it was, so it's going to be like this for a while. It's prettier though.

*swoon*

I'm posting from my wonderful porch! Sitting outside with Dori wondering around. It's great. I even have a hanging plant that I have kept alive for a whole week now, and it attracted a beautiful humming bird earlier today. It's sunny and breezy and beautiful! 73 degrees even. mmmm.

motherfucking snakes on a motherfucking plane

I say, there could have been a tad more snake-related injuries and/or deaths.

I used "awesome" 3 times in a post that only had 38 words. I was surprized to know I had used it at all.

FUN!

Thanks [info]lollipoptrollop for distracting me tonight! OMG myheritage.com's celebraty look-alike thing is SO fun!

This is my favorite )

Snakes and Compasses

I finished The Golden Compass this morning and started a bit of The Subtle Knife which so far is great. Im not good at reviewing books, so this is my review for the Golden Compass: It was awesome!

Our apartment is starting to also be pretty awesome too. I've been getting into hanging stuff up and placing things so they're cute, AND we found an arrangement that doesn't completely mimic [info]aaron_pike's place. ^_^

I am so frickin' excited for Snakes on a Plane! I cannnot describe! And Overcompensating has the BEST t-shirt I've EVER seen EVER!!! So so so so cute! little snakeys. <3 Cobert even thinks so.

How does one recover from Buffy withdrawal?

Aug. 8th, 2006

It's almost been a week since we've moved in and doesn't really feel like we've been here that long. Not enough is unpacked, and not even everything has been moved. We're going to have to wait until the weekend again before we get the carpet, extra book cases, piano and other miscelanious boxes and items. The cats are pretty much adjusted although I'm sure they would appreciate the place being a bit more put together as well. Everything does *not* have it's own place, and especially with dishes and things, I've been very creative. We have 3 larger cabinets on top and bottom, and 2 drawers. 4 small cabinets above the sink and very little counter space. No room for clothes until I get some sort of dresser thing. I gave my metal one to joe because I was inheriting one from some friends. Well, it's huge and it's hardly enough room for anything. So the plan is to upgrade to something smaller and more room. (if that makes sense) Now joe won't part with my old one even temperarily lending me a drawer because he likes it so much, so I am hanging everything I can and putting the rest into a laundry basket. Enough moving blah blah

This last weekend [info]sarahtomic came to visit me! We watched Dr Who and [info]ladygaia came over and we cut her hair and bleached Sarah's a little. There was even time for singing the next day! Yays! Last night Joe and I wen't out for food because our oven has been smelling weird kinda like baking clay. It's deffinatly the chemicals the girl used who lived here before us. I sponged it down and it helped a little, but not enough. So we tried out the Macaroni Grill which we both thought was a little pretentious. The waitress thought we were weird for not ordering anything but a main course and water and then boxing up half of it. Well, whatever. I had spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were good, but there was hardly any sauce which I always hate. Joe had a pesto pizza with chicken and sundried tomatoes which he liked but was way too salty.

I still feel weird on this side of town. I feel a *bit* like being on vacation. I can't describe it. It's going to take some getting used to. It would probably help if we did more stuff with people on this side of town, but right now, everyone's going to GenCon, so it's going to be a bit before that happens.

It's my golden birthday on the 25th and I can't decide if I want to have a party or not. It's only 2 weeks away, so I should probably decide soon... it's just so hard to get this apartment in order!
